NFPA 410 addresses fire protection criteria for all maintenance activities conducted inside of an aircraft hangar including:

• Aircraft fuel systems
• Welding operations
• Painting of aircraft

New to this 2004 edition are criteria for painting in hangars, correlated with NFPA 409. The Standard also contains requirements for wheeled extinguishers along the ramp.
