NFPA 90A is the ANSI approved standard of care for HVAC to safeguard people and property against fire, smoke, and gases resulting from fire or similar conditions. Updated for greater clarity and the latest references to applicable NFPA® codes and standards and other documents, it addresses every aspects of the construction, operation, and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilating systems -- including filters, ducts, and related equipment.

Requirements are used to prevent the migration of smoke and reduce the potential for fire in forced air systems in buildings that are over 25,000 cubic feet or Types III, IV, and V construction over three stories in height.
