PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to outline the specific recommended stage 1 (off load) and stage 2 (on load) commissioning tests that are required to be carried out to prove the integrity of all new Mechanically Switched Capacitor (MSC) installations. This procedure applies to equipment at all voltage levels and is equally applicable to Mechanically Switched Capacitor and Damping Network (MSCDN) installations.

These tests are to be completed in addition to the usual stage 1 commissioning tests as outlined in CH1, Commissioning Programme Model Format and immediately prior to and during the stage 2 commissioning of the MSC.
