INTRODUCTION

This schedule of site commissioning tests is broadly in accordance with Appendix HH of IEC 56. It details, in general terms, a range of checks which are considered necessary prior to the putting into service of circuit-breakers. It is expected that the individual circuit-breaker manufacturers will supply detailed commissioning check sheets addressing these points in the most appropriate way for their particular designs of equipment. The manufacturers' own documents should ideally be sufficiently comprehensive to be used in place of these guidelines but if necessary this check sheet should be used in conjunction with the manufacturers' own documentation to ensure the appropriate commissioning checks are carried out.

Acceptability of all checks shall be signed off, by means of a record sheet of the format of page 5 of this document, by both the supplier/manufacturer's representative and The National Grid Company plc (NGC) Engineer. The acceptability of all checks shall be judged against the appropriate rated/recommended values or the appropriate operational requirements.
