PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This document details, in general terms, a range of checks and performance tests on Mechanically Switched Capacitor (MSC) equipment which are considered to be the minimum tests that are necessary prior to hand over of the equipment to National Grid. Contractors may perform additional tests to those specified in this document. Commissioning requirements for control and protection systems are not within the scope of this document.
