PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This Specification describes the National Grid technical requirements for relocatable Mechanically Switched Capacitor Banks incorporating Damping Networks connected at 400 kV or 275 kV. This Specification does not include the associated circuit breaker, disconnectors and certain earthing switches which will be specified in the Enquiry Document on a site-specific basis.

Reference is made to TS 1 in respect of the general applicability of the requirements of this and other National Grid TS specifications to non National Grid connected Users of the Transmission System.
