PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This document specifies the functional requirements for HVDC converters connected to the National Grid Electricity Transmission System in the UK and located onshore. It includes the HVDC converter station and its component equipment items. Functional requirements for the protection and control of HVDC transmission are specified in TS 3.24.90.
Site specific requirements for HVDC converters will be specified in the Enquiry Document. Requirements for HVDC converters located offshore will be specified in a future document.
