PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This document forms part of a suite of documents which define National Grid's functional and performance requirements for new plant.

This specification defines the characteristics and performance requirements of complete insulator sets procured for installation on National Grids transmission system.

It is applicable to sets comprising of cap and pin type or composite insulators for use on overhead lines operated at 132, 275 and 400 kV a.c.
