PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This document forms part of a suite of documents which define National Grid's functional and performance requirements for new plant.

This specification defines the characteristics and performance requirements for Composite insulators procured for installation on National Grid owned overhead lines operated at 132, 275 and 400 kV (ac) The specification for cap and pin type insulators is not covered in this document. For cap and pin type insulators refer to TS 3.4.4.
