This Specification describes the functional and performance requirements for Automatic Tap Change Control (ATCC) for National Grid transformers (supergrid transformers) operating between 400 kV or 275 kV circuits and lower voltage busbars.

The requirements for ATCC in this document are designated for a substation with up to six busbars and seven transformers. For substations with different configurations, these specified functions may not be fully required. The minimum requirements for the ATCC systems for different substation configurations are listed in Appendix D.
