CPM Livelink and ECM are individual but inter-related document management systems used by National Grid for electronically storing, sharing and distributing information to support key company processes that include; investment delivery; engineering asset records and drawing custodianship; transmission system change governance, protection relay settings management; and site access administration. The primary role of each individual system is summarised as follows: -
a) Collaborative Project Management’ (CPM Livelink or ‘proj.info)’ - used mainly for storing, sharing & distributing project related information between National Grid and its Delivery Vehicles and Contractor Organisations, as well as supporting the management of electricity transmission protective relay settings.
b) ‘Enterprise Content Management (ECM)’ - used predominantly for engineering records & master drawings custodianship, and control of modifications to transmission systems (gas and electricity).
To access CPM Livelink and/or ECM, every individual user shall firstly be allocated with an appropriate licence issued by Open Text Corporation (the application vendor) whereupon a user account can then be established in accordance with this procedure.
