It is important to determine the assets, the potential threats and hazards, and the level of vulnerability in order to know what level of testing or certification is required, before specifying the glazing. Many test standards are available to determine the suitability of glass for safety applications. This document is a guide to the standardized methods recommended and used by the glass industry. The Technical Services Division of the National Glass Association (NGA) has produced this Glass Technical Paper solely for informational purposes.
