NORSOK M-004 covers the minimum requirements for insulation of pipes, equipment, vessels, tanks, valves, flanges, instrument tubing and penetrations for offshore/onshore installations. This standard covers thermal insulation, personnel protection, fire protection and acoustic protection.
This standard is not intended for subsea installation.
This NORSOK standard does not cover refractory or HVAC (heating, ventilation and air condition) related items.
