These tuning capacitor units are intended for use with impedance bonds to BR Specification 863 on lines having d.c. electric traction at 600 - 1500 Volts.

When fitted, the capacitor unit is intended to resonate an impedance bond so that the bond presents an impedance of not less than 12 ohms to the track circuitry in which it is fitted.
