Introduction
A number of SPX BR985 specification hydraulic barrier packs have recently suffered from a failure mode which caused them to be ‘slow to raise'. SPX have identified this as a pack ‘build' defect in some packs that were manufactured between November 2004 and June 2005. These packs are fitted within the pedestals of BR 843 style barriers only. The serial number range of the affected packs is identified as being between 5430 and 5860. It is thought that only a small number of packs within this range are affected.
