THIS STANDARD DRAWING IS TO BE READ IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STEELWORK GENERAL ASSEMBLY DRAWINGS AND NOTES ON NR/CIV/SD/1510 AND THE GENERAL NOTES DRAWING NR/CIV/SD/1504.

THE 'E' TYPE MAIN GIRDERS, INCLUDING INTERMEDIATE WEB AND BEARING STIFFENERS, ARE TO BE DESIGNED BY THE SCHEME DESIGNER. DRAWINGS NR/CIV/SD/1522 TO NR/CIV/SD/1529 GIVE DETAILS OF STANDARD CONNECTIONS AND ATTACHMENTS TO THE MAIN GIRDER ONLY, AND PROVIDE BEST PRACTICE DETAILING. THE DESIGNER SHALL ENSURE THAT THE LENGTH OF THE MAIN GIRDER, ITS STIFFENESS AND THE DECK OVERHANG ARE DETAILED TO SATISFY THE DEFORMATION LIMITS IN THE STANDARDS STATED ON DRAWING NR/CIV/ SD/1504.
