This code of practice applies to new ancillary wiring at traction substations, track paralleling huts, feeder stations, track sectioning cabins/locations and similar equipment locations.

Purpose

This code of practice states the best practice for wire identification codes for ancillary wiring BETWEEN main items of electrical distribution equipment including SCADA outstation equipment on A.C. and D.C. Electrified Lines. The code of practice may also be applied to wiring WITHIN an item of electrical distribution equipment.

The document is to be read in conjunction with the relevant procurement specification and RT/E/S/21028, which states the Directorate's requirements for ancillary wiring.
