This Guidance Note to all Network Rail buildings and sites let to T.O.C's and FOC's managed by the Route Estates team. It should also be noted that some Depots are leased to companies that are neither Train Operating Companies (TOC) nor franchised (e.g. West Coast Traincare Limited) to avoid any doubt this Code of Practice also applies to these premises.

Purpose

This Guidance Note provides guidance on Fire Safety related matters for those staff that have responsibility for the management of the contracts of premises leased by the Route Estates Team. The document sets out guidance for the implementation of the Fire Safety deliverables contained within the Company Fire Safety Handbook NR/CS/FIR/100, which should be read in conjunction with this document.
