This module applies in all circumstances where any person is required to lead the construction, renewal enhancement and modification of OLE on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure.
A competence of OLEC 5A will provide Industry wide recognition (by assessment) of an individual’s combination of underpinning Knowledge of the various OLE systems and company/group standards & legislation. Validated Prior Experience, qualifications and awareness of the applicable NWR E & P project and engineering processes and best practices will be assessed. The OLEC 5A assessment panel comprises of (as a minimum) an accredited OLEC Trainer/Assessor and a suitably qualified and experienced OLEC Engineer nominated by the Professional Head from the sponsoring organisation.
Purpose
The purpose of this module is to define the competence requirements for persons required to take and relinquish responsibility for overhead line equipment between renewal, enhancement and construction activities.
