The standard provides a framework for the production of CAD files and accommodates current practices employed within Network Rail.
This standard applies to Network Rail staff and to suppliers involved in the production of CAD files which represent railway infrastructure and property.
Additional discipline specific guidance is contained within Appendix A.
The process for managing CAD data is not stipulated within this standard.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to specify requirements relating to the production of Computer Aided Design (CAD) files for models and drawings representing railway infrastructure and property. This mandates quality assurance across the railway design industry so that the compilation and presentation of CAD files is managed in a co-ordinated approach.
