This Network Rail standard specifies:
• the Project Management Products that are delivered for projects that need to adhere to GRIP.
• high level GRIP Project Management-specific process maps for projects.
• the conduct of Stage Gate and Peer Reviews
The standard is applicable to all Enhancement and Renewals projects that adhere to GRIP. It supports NR/L1/INI/PM/GRIP/100, which specifies which projects GRIP is applicable to.
It is the responsibility of the Project Sponsor and Project Manager to demonstrate that GRIP has been adhered to on a project.
For Enhancement projects the Sponsor is accountable for delivery of GRIP Stages 1-3 and 8, and the Project Manager is accountable for delivery of GRIP Stages 4-7. For Renewals projects the accountability for a particular Stage will vary depending on the nature of the project.
This standard specifies Project Management Products and Processes only. Project Management Products are Products that are common to all projects.
This standard does not specify which Non-Project Management Products will be delivered. Non-Project Management Products are specified as Products that need to be created due to the nature of a project (for example, as Station Change Notice). Information on Non-Project Management Products is provided in the following manuals within the Project Management Information Centre (PMIC):
• Enhancements;
• Renewals;
• Delivery; Asset Specific
NOTE 1 PMIC is available via Connect: http://shareds/sharedservices/PMRC/PMRC_main.htm, and is available on CD upon request.
NOTE 2 Engineering Deliverables that need to be produced for a project are listed in the Project Requirements Specification (PRS). The PRS is a Project Management Product.
NOTE 3 Safety and Environmental Products are covered within the Delivery Manual.
NOTE 4 The hyperlink given within this standard to the Project Management Index is to an internal document, available to staff with Network Rail only.
Purpose
