Technical scope

Specifically this standard applies to:

a) High risk operating incidents or irregularities; or

b) High risk defects in equipment (other than defects in equipment on rail vehicles, plant and machinery covered by GE/RT8250, or in signalling and telecommunications equipment included in the scope of GK/RT0106)

Which have the potential to recur at any time or location.

This standard also applies to the systematic misapplication or misunderstanding of operating rules, regulations and instructions, which have the potential:

a) To be widespread within Network Rail and its contractors; and

b) To increase the risks on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure

Purpose

To mandate how Network Rail shall initiate or receive Urgent Operating Advices and how these shall be distributed.
