This module applies to all proposals for new and altered signalling works irrespective of size.

Purpose

This module gives guidance on documenting the essential features of proposed signalling works and notifying them to designers responsible for the delivery of the scheme documentation.

Project requirements have previously been documented in a variety of named documents: Outline Project Specification (OPS), Final Project Specification (FPS), Project Requirements Specification (PRS) and more recently Route Requirement Document (RRD) and Detailed Route Requirements Document (DRRD), refer to NR/L3/INI/P3M/126

In this module the general term projects specification has been used for the document(s) that captures the required information required by the designer responsible for delivering the design (in whichever phase of a project).
