Purpose 

This handbook supports the application of Clamp Lock on Network Rail infrastructure and provides: 

1) an operationally safe installation of new or altered systems and equipment; 

2) safe interfaces between systems; 

3) guidance on safe methods of work; 

4) a correct and consistent interpretation of guidelines for installation and maintenance; 

5) compliance with the manufacturer’s specified requirements, so that the installation is dependable, fit for purpose, free from defect and remains within the manufacturer’s warranty requirements; 

6) guidance on testing and fault finding.
