Network Rail
This Network Rail standard specifies the management of Fault Management System (FMS) records at an Integrated Control Centre (ICC).
It applies to all records created via an ICC (or similar failure/incident management location) FMS input site.
Purpose
The Fault Management System (FMS) provides facilities for real time management of failures/incidents and facilitates analysis of failure data. Each failure/incident has a unique record created that includes Geographical and Time data, structured coding of the failure mode and other relevant information
This standard specifies requirements that all information entered into the FMS will be relevant, accurate, auditable, cross-referenced to other relevant records and coded correctly.
This will assist in effective management of failures/incidents and provide accurate and meaningful information/statistics. This will also provide information on the reliability of equipment and infrastructure to provide data to influence future infrastructure strategies.
