This specification specifies the physical, export and quality requirements for a DVR to be used at a level crossing.
It applies to all stakeholders involved in the procurement, operation and maintenance of video monitoring equipment for use on level crossings.
Purpose
This specification:
a) confirms DVRs meet a common level of functionality across Network Rail;
b) confirms any product approved DVR provides acceptable video evidence; and
c) mitigates the risk of a level crossing having no or an unapproved recording facility.
It follows best practice set out in Retrieval of Video Evidence and Production of Working Copies from Digital CCTV Systems
