This specification applies to individuals who are introducing or amending EULYNX sub-systems and interfaces specified for Network Rail managed infrastructure, where EULYNX interfaces are required.

This document contains generic Network Rail application requirements for all EULYNX sub-systems and interfaces, including:

• Train Detection System (TDS)

• Points (P)

• Level Crossing (LC)

• External Level Crossing System (LX)

• Adjacent Interlocking System (ILS)

• Control Data Interfaces (SCI)

• Maintenance Data Interfaces (SMI)

• Diagnostics Data Interfaces (SDI)

• Security Services Data Interfaces (SSI)

Other EULYNX sub-systems and interfaces are include within the EULYNX System Definition [Eu.Doc.7], and may be identified for national development in future, depending on the needs of Network Rail. Therefore, the following EULYNX systems are not yet in scope of this document:

• EULYNX Electronic Interlocking functionality 

• Traffic Control System

• Track Worker Safety System (TSS)

• EULYNX Light Signal (LS)

• EULYNX Generic Input/Output (IO)

• Radio Block Centre (RBC)

• Lineside Electronic Unit (LEU)

• EULYNX Maintenance and Data Management System (MDM)

• EULYNX Security Services Platform (SSP)

• Power Supply

• Telecommunications System

NOTE: The Power Supply and Telecommunications Systems have been defined for Network Rail and do not require modification to support the application of EULYNX.

Purpose 

This specification sets out the generic technical requirements for the application of EULYNX subsystems and interfaces on Network Rail’s (NR) infrastructure. 

It is intended that this generic document is read in conjunction with all applicable subsystem and interface documentation published by Network Rail and the EULYNX Consortium.
