This procedure applies to:

a) the signalling engineering content of all projects for which Network Rail is the Infrastructure Manager including feasibility studies and other preliminary designs

b) proposals for temporary works associated with such schemes

Unless specified by the Route Asset Manager (S&T) or their representative these procedures do not apply for the following circumstances:

a) normal day to day maintenance work

b) work carried out under emergency conditions

c) assessments of existing installations and equipment

Purpose

This document describes the engineering assurance processes for changes to Signalling Infrastructure or changes to other parts of the railway infrastructure which may impact on the continued safe operation of the signalling system.
