This standard:

a) sets out the process for designing and implementing off-grid power supply systems for use at level crossings and other off-grid rail infrastructure;

b) covers the design requirements of off-grid DC power supplies at 24 volts, for a maximum mean continuous electrical load of 200 watts to be used at level crossings and other remote rail infrastructure locations.

It applies to all stakeholders involved in the design, procurement, installation, operation and maintenance of off-grid power supply systems.

Purpose

This standard describes the off-grid power supply system design process and requirements providing a standard level of functionality across Network Rail for level crossings and other remote rail infrastructure locations.
