This standard provides the specification and requirements to be met for the design and construction of climate control housing for active telecommunications equipment and associated infrastructure.

This document applies to current and future Network Rail telecommunication scenarios, to establish the requirements that define size and capacity ranges of the climate control housing in accordance with the needs of the projects.

This document is not a design for a specific housing configuration or for any specific application. 

This document applies to anyone responsible for:

a) defining specific project requirements;

b) designing and selecting the housing configuration;

c) designing and selecting telecoms equipment for project application;

d) demonstrating that housing meets the requirements set out in the project design.

Purpose 

This standard defines the minimum requirements to be used when selecting controlled climate trackside housing for telecommunication equipment in a range of typical applications on the Network Rail infrastructure, supporting both operational railway and business services.
