The scope of this guidance document consists of the key requirements and considerations that a typical non operational wireless device should fulfil in order to protect the Network Rail infrastructure upon installation. Any devices selected must operate under the power limitations permitted by Network Rail. Furthermore any such device selected must be utilised and deployed as per manufacturers' instruction.

Purpose

This document provides guidance for the selection of wireless devices exempt of product acceptance requirements. It does not provide any detailed design guidance for system installation. Any devices implemented must conform to the appropriate standards regarding EMC and Environmental condition acceptance.
