This supporting module defines the process for detection of Intervention Limit (IL) and Immediate Action Limit (IAL) faults using manual track geometry measuring equipment to manage the risk to derailment on lines not recorded by train borne recording vehicles.
It is applicable to manual track geometry measurement devices and manual track geometry measurement recorders that record unloaded track geometry.
It does not apply to larger recording trolleys used to verify Enhanced Permissible Speed (EPS) geometry, or to manual/automatic trolleys primarily designed to act as the target for total stations or theodolites
