This module applies to Detailed Examinations for these structure types:

   Bridges; 

   Culverts;

   Retaining Walls;

   Ancillary Assets;

This module applies to structures when a Detailed Examination has been instructed on an asset in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/006.

NOTE 1: This module does not apply to Detailed Examination of Tunnels. For Tunnels use NR/L3/CIV/006/4A.

NOTE 2: This module does not apply to Ancillary Assets that are managed by Operation Property in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/006. For Operation Property Ancillary Asset use NR/L3/CIV/006/3D

Purpose 

This module provides a specification to mitigate the risk of failure to undertake a compliant detailed examination for a structures asset which could result in potential functional failures going undetected by the asset management team [Structures] and might result in accidents and/or disruptions to the operation of the railway network.
