A Reconnaissance Survey will apply to assets listed in Section 2 of NR/L3/CIV/006/3A where a Reconnaissance Survey has been instructed by the RAM (B/C).

Purpose

This module sets out the requirements for a Reconnaissance Survey applicable to all Operational Property assets to mitigate the risk of functional failure of an Operational Property asset which might result in health, safety, environmental or operational incidents.

The purpose of this module is to detail the requirements for collecting asset data where no previous data exists and Network Rail are assigned responsibility for the asset. The data collected during a Reconnaissance Survey will be used to populate Network Rail’s Asset Management system and to plan the examination regime.
