Sections 76 - 79 (Embedded retaining walls) provide a specification for works based on the "ICE Specification for piling and embedded retaining walls" (2nd Edition, 2007) hereinafter referred to as the ICE Specification. The Model Clauses in these Sections are qualifications, amendments or additions to the ICE Specification.

The specifier should refer to the ICE Specification including the applicable guidance notes; BS EN 1997-1 and the NA to BS EN 1997-1; and Non-Contradictory Complementary Information in BS 8002 prior to compiling the Contract Specification Appendix Clauses for works.
