The Reporting and Investigation Manual contains the standards and associated guidance for the reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents.

This Network Rail standard:

a) specifies the process for proposals for change to the standards and guidance notes forming the Reporting and Investigation Manual;

b) contains the "Contents and Responsibilities Matrix" (see Appendix A) for the Reporting and Investigation Manual;

c) specifies the requirements for revising the "Contents and Responsibilities Matrix".

Purpose

To specify the requirements for reviewing and revising the Network Rail standards and guidance notes forming the Reporting and Investigation Manual.
