This Network Rail standard applies to events involving irregular working occurring on Network Rail managed infrastructure (NRMI) and on Network Rail managed stations that are identified in route control logs or as shown at clause 7.

This standard does not apply to the events shown in Appendix A. These events shall be separately listed in the Route Control Log under the relevant category heading.

Note 1 These events are not subject to the irregular working risk ranking process because the risks and consequences of such events are separately reported and monitored.

This standard does not affect or amend a line manager's responsibility for taking appropriate action to maintain safety of the operation of a location.

Purpose

To provide a consistent, comprehensive and structured process within Network Rail for the reporting and risk ranking of events involving irregular working.
