This process covers the maintenance of Network Rail direct maintained plant, 25kV distribution, ETE or ETM assets. It does not cover the maintenance of Overhead Live Equipment (OLE), 3phase high voltage networks for traction purposes, 750V dc networks for traction purposes, hand held powered tools, road/rail vehicles, rail vehicles or any on-track plant.

This process applies to you if:

• You manage or supervise maintenance teams or technical support staff.
• You maintain or inspect equipment.
• You check or review maintenance work.
• You are responsible for planning maintenance.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define the roles and responsibilities in the planning of routine maintenance activities of operational plant, 25kV distribution, Electric Track Equipment (ETE) and Electric Track Maintenance (ETM) assets to fit in with the national planning process and timescales in accordance with NR/SP/MTC/0056 Specification for: Work and possession planning for the railway infrastructure (meetings management pack).
