This process covers the inspection and maintenance of Network Rail direct maintained OLE assets as defined in NR/L2/ELP/21087 Issue 3 Specification of maintenance frequency and defect prioritisation of 25kV overhead line electrification equipment as appropriate.

This process applies to you if:

• You manage or supervise OLE inspection or maintenance teams or technical support staff.
• You inspect or maintain OLE.
• You check or review OLE inspection or maintenance work.
• You are responsible for planning OLE inspection or maintenance.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define the roles and responsibilities in the planning of routine inspection and maintenance activities of Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) assets to fit in with the national planning process and timescales as described in NR/L2/MTC/0056 Specification for: Work and possession planning for the railway infrastructure (meetings management pack).

Changes to any plans shall be carried out in accordance with NR/SP/MTC/0086 Specification for: Work and possession planning for the railway infrastructure: Change Control.

OLE isolations shall be applied for and delivered in accordance with NR/L3/MTC/EP0107 Planning and delivery of OLE isolation.
