This procedure applies to all the MMTs owned and operated by Network Rail Infrastructure Maintenance (IM) and all Network Rail staff. The procedure works in collaboration with applicable standards of any Railway Undertaking (RU) contracted to operate the MMT.

This module applies to the use of the MMT working outside of existing engineering access arrangements as an On-Track Machine (OTM) working in section.

This module should be used in conjunction with NR/L3/MTC/ME0300/12 when working in in section whilst the MMT is out-of-gauge.

This module only applies to Track Circuit Block signalled areas and does not include axle counter detected areas.

Purpose

This module provides processes that reduce risks whilst the MMT is working in section.
