This procedure covers all Managed Stations employees who require a duty of care after any incident, accident or any situation occurring at work which the individual feels that they need a duty of care. It also allows managers to support employees if the manager sees a decline in their performance of any work carried out on the station due to personal issues or behavioural factors. The sections below detail the processes to support employees to give a duty of care and support after an incident.
PURPOSE
Network Rail has a zero tolerance towards assault against our employees, this procedure works in conjunction with the Violence at Work policy, the Personal Security Company Standard and NR/L3/OCS/044-MS-30 Safety and Induction File.
This compliance procedure is also designed to provide a consistent framework to manage employees who are involved in an incident, accident and consequently see their performance at work decline.
Work place violence can be defined as any incident in which a person is abused, threatened or assaulted whist carry out his or her duties, involving any explicit or implicit threat to his or her safety, wellbeing or health.
For the purpose of this procedure, physical, verbal, explicit or implied act of aggression will be considered.
