This procedure applies to:

  • all Local Instructions, being written for the Weekly Operating Notice, the Sectional Appendix, Signal Boxes, Bridge Strike Appendices, Manned Level Crossings, Moveable Bridges and operating employees on Network Rail infrastructure;

  • all Network Rail employees who have a responsibility for the preparation approval, issue, distribution and briefing of Local Instructions for operating employees.

PURPOSE

This procedure provides a process so that Local Instructions for operating employees are:

a) produced in accordance with RIS-3215-TOM and NR/L2/OPS/110; and

b) authorised, published and briefed in a consistent manner across the Network Rail infrastructure.
