This procedure applies to all Network Rail Managed Stations or third parties except:

• St Pancras (Midland Road) Station, where this is covered by the St Pancras International Station arrangements.

• Stations where the Train Operators lead with the development of the plans as the Service Provider to Network Rail Infrastructure Limited. Any alternative arrangements will be documented via Safety Validation or approved Statement of Arrangements.

Examples of station equipment include:

• Escalators.

• Passenger conveyors.

• Lifts.

• Mechanical gates / arm barriers.

• Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Assets e.g. impact tested bollards.

• Station wheelchairs.

• Station ramps.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to set out the requirements for the safe operation and management of station equipment.
