This procedure applies to all areas of Network Rail Managed Stations including areas leased to third parties except at:

• St Pancras (Midland Road) Station, where this is covered by the St Pancras International Station arrangements.

• Stations where the Train Operators lead with the development of the plans as the Service Provider to Network Rail Infrastructure Limited. Any alternative arrangements will be documented via Safety Validation or approved Statement of Arrangements.

This procedure covers the process for allowing works to be carried out on Network Rail Managed Stations, from receiving an application for works, to signing off the work as complete and subsequent monitoring.

PURPOSE

This procedure maintains the safety of the station by providing a framework to allow:

• All contractors to have their Risk Assessment / Method Statement (RAMS) or work package plan approved.

• Eliminate as much risk as possible from the planned works prior to persons arriving at site.

• Reduce the risk to an acceptable level when work is carried out on the station.

• Management of approved works on the station to completion.
