This module applies to non-OTM crew, safety critical staff or manager undertaking cab rides in Network Rail driving cabs in the course of the legitimate execution of their duties.

It applies to Mobile Personal Electronic Devices including wearable technology such as Smart watches, either privately owned or issued by Network Rail, capable of:

a) sending and receiving telephone or video calls

b) sending and receiving text messages

c) sending and receiving E-Mails

d) accessing or participating in social media

e) taking photographs or video

f) receiving and playing radio or TV signals

g) playing games

h) playing music in any form e.g. disc/MP3 etc.

i) accessing the internet or intranet

j) provide personal data, e.g. fitness, heart rate.

NOTE: This does not include Global System for Mobile Communications – Railways (GSM-R) portable handsets
