This module applies to work that meets the selection criteria as defined in NR/L3/SIG/10064 NR/GI/T001. 

Intermediate Testing is the testing of signalling equipment that is replaced or renewed on an Extensive and Simultaneous like for like basis under planned works,and signalling renewals defined as Functionally Equivalent Works that have previously been tested to Signal Works Testing Handbook. 

Extensive and simultaneous covers the temporary disconnection and subsequent reconnection of signalling equipment, usually required in order to facilitate permanent way works, either in an emergency situation, or when works can be pre-planned. 

Where the volume and / or complexity of the testing is in excess of that which might reasonably be tested, managed and / or controlled by a G110 Tester / Lead Tester, then the use of G110 might not be appropriate.

Purpose

This module is part of the suite of documents contained within the Signalling Intermediate Testing Handbook, NR/L3/SIG/11235, which together detail the requirements for signalling intermediate testing activities.

This module defines the requirements which, when met, allow Signal Maintenance Testing techniques to apply to Functionally Equivalent Works and Signal Maintenance Testing works which are defined as Extensive and Simultaneous.
