• All testing shall be under the control of a "Tester in Charge".
• Testers shall hold an appropriate "Certificate of Competence" and be registered.
• A record of all tests and their results shall be made using the proper forms.
The full testing procedures are given in the SWTH. It is issued to all those who need to know of its requirements. If you are involved in the formal testing, only undertake exactly what you are instructed.
To facilitate the commissioning work, before the formal testing commences you should set up and check as much as possible of the newly installed equipment. Given below are various check lists to remind you what should be done during or after installation. However, you shall not do any testing, checking or setting up work that can affect the operational railway unless special arrangements have been made in accordance with the Rule Book, and the work is under the guidance of a Registered Tester.
