The procedure covers all signalling equipment on Network Rail infrastructure that is maintained by the Network Rail maintenance function.
The process covers implementation and management of default and alternative maintenance regimes as defined in signal engineering standards NR/L2/SIG/10660 and NR/L2/SIG/10662.
The process for the non availability of a signal maintenance specification is covered along with the process for signal maintenance specifications that contain believed errors.
The procedure for the use of record cards associated with signal maintenance specifications is also covered.
This procedure applies to you if you are involved with the management and delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance on signalling equipment. Individual role/position responsibilities for this procedure are detailed in the RACI.
Purpose
This document details the procedure for the type of signal maintenance specification and the required task interval mandated by the Network Rail signal engineering function that is to be applied to signalling equipment to provide preventative maintenance and not to compromise safety, performance and reliability.
