This instruction applies to all persons maintaining CIS Control Equipment used by Network Rail and/or the SFO.

Power supplies, Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), equipment or batteries associated with CIS Control System should be maintained as detailed in NR/L3/TEL/30081.

Purpose

This instruction defines the telecommunications maintenance procedure for Customer Information System (CIS) Control Equipment used by Network Rail and/or the Station Facilities Owner (SFO).

Maintaining CIS Control Equipment decreases service failures by identifying and rectifying defects before they become faults.
