The Procedure applies to the planning of train borne grinding as a slow moving train, by maintenance teams at all levels.

This procedure DOES NOT apply to grinding undertaken by hand or in-possession grinding including switch and crossing train borne grinding.

Purpose

This Procedure defines the standard process, roles and responsibilities for the planning of plain line rail grinding using train borne equipment together with associated preparatory and follow-up work, on the network.
